Temple Square Stroll, 2012
Just kind of a fun composition featuring people, their shadows, and an extreme wide-angle view of the Salt Lake Temple.
Christmas Chill, 2012
Never underestimate the power of creative collaboration. That's the lesson I learned in late 2012 when my buddy Dennis and I swung down to Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City to take pictures of the Christmas lights. Dennis had a new remote flash unit, and thought it would be fun to try it out. So I set up my camera on a tripod and hit the trigger while he wandered around the Main Street Plaza with the flash, no doubt alarming the unsuspecting patrons. The following year I submitted this image to the Utah State Fair, and it wound up getting chosen to tour the state with the Utah Arts Council.
Christmas Chill #2, 2012
Part of me thinks this image of patrons on the Main Street Plaza looking at the Temple Square Christmas lights, enhanced by my buddy Dennis's remote flash unit, is better than the version I submitted to the State Fair later in 2013. But since that version toured the state with the Utah Arts Council, I guess this one has to be the B-side. Oh well.
