Frigid Footsteps, 2016

On a bitter cold morning late in 2016, after doing early baptisms with the youth in my Bountiful ward, I drove out to Antelope Island in the hopes of getting an interesting sunrise picture. I wan't quite to the island when I pulled off to the side of the causeway and set up next to this set of iced-over footprints, but the reflection of the early sunlight off the frozen Great Salt Lake made the freezing conditions come to life.

The snow on the distant mountains only hints at how cold it was the morning I drove out to Antelope Island for some sunrise shots. The cold doesn't seem to be bothering these bison, though, and I am very grateful for their thoughtful staggered formation here.
