The last stretch before you arrive at Joshua Tree National Park, after passing through the Mojave Desert from the north, is dotted with an assortment of unwelcoming rural compounds. I noticed this sign just off the highway on my way into town, and decided to grab a quick picture on my way out. I have to admit, the "smile, you're on camera" bit creeped me out a little.
