Bon Voyage, 2013

In 2013 a former student of mine asked me to take a few pictures at a farewell party her friends and family had put together to celebrate her enlistment in the US Navy. Towards the end of the event, I got a secret heads-up that Jade was in for a special send-off, and luckily I was able to get in perfect position as her then boyfriend doused her with a Gatorade jug full of ice water.

The Yawn, 2011

In January of 2011 I became an uncle for the first time. After getting word from my sister, my parents and I headed to the hospital in record time, and I met my new niece when she was all of about 20 minutes old. Naturally, I brought my camera along to capture moments like this, when my parents tenderly tried to adjust her hospital-issued beanie in the middle of an extreme yawn.
